Orleans is a fast-growing suburban district in Ottawa that is home to a number of neighborhoods, all with their own character. The atmosphere is very welcoming where people of all ages and lifestyles can feel at home. It's located just off of the Ottawa River, just a few miles east of the downtown core. It was an incorporated village before it became part of the City of Ottawa, so many of the homes and buildings have been there for many years.
Since the 1970s, the neighborhoods in Orleans have seen rapid with nearly constant growth. There are a number of schools, French and English, and the population continues to rise. The shopping center just off the Queensway is one of the most central and significant landmarks in the Orleans area, and part of what makes it such a good place for singles, families, and retirees. There's something for everyone in Orleans, largely because of the number of neighborhoods that can be enjoyed there.
